CHB, quit talking about the labor and show me the baby

Mr Thompson, you are my hero and for you to respond to my humble blog is a lifetime memory. I have followed you for years, and know your awards and experience. I envy your life now, and I admire your past. If I could have been a fly on the wall with just a few seconds of the history you have participated in. Thank you so much for reading and responding.

Ms. Price I have greatly enjoyed reading your comments from this and other blogs and articles. Your excellent writing is to-the-point, and your education and experience is evident by the wise insight you bring. I especially love the kindness that shines through every word.

Ms. Price, if I was a single man, and this was a different world... I would be but a fool in love.

I meant no harm or insult to Mr.

So can Boris pull it off? And do the Tories really want him to?

But there is nervousness, too, among the Cameron camp. A column by Philip Stephens in the Financial Times which suggested the leadership would like Johnson to lose narrowly, scaring Livingstone and showing the Tories could score in the capital, has been much discussed at Westminster this week.

Few know Cameron's real view and senior figures in the Tory campaign are adamant the speculation is untrue. Some officials say the London election is too singular to draw wider conclusions. But while Johnson is a supporter of Cameron and signed-up moderniser, Crosby's strategy may encourage the view that the party should return to its base to hoover up voters.

There is dismay in the Livingstone camp at the relatively easy ride Johnson receives in the media. Their man, they say, is subject to almost daily beatings in the Evening Standard by Andrew Gilligan, the former Today reporter who sparked the David Kelly affair.

Tulip teams up again with SUPERSTAR director

Whatever may have been the fate of SUPERSTAR, it hasn't deterred its director Rohit Jugraj and leading lady Tulip Joshi to team up again. The actress has been signed by the filmmaker for one of his next projects, which would be rolling soon.

"I thoroughly enjoyed working with Rohit and there is no reason why I should not be working with him again. The man knows how to get the right styling in place and has a great sense of screenplay. He presented me quite well in SUPERSTAR and I am glad that I worked with him", says Tulip.

"Even before SUPERSTAR started, I was told by people that he had JAMES behind him. My question was - 'So what?' Each of us have hits and flops but that doesn't mean that we don't know our craft or what we are talking. I am sure Rohit would bounce back with his next film", signs off Tulip confidently.

Ministers find Word spreads farther on air

"Jesus told us to go forth and spread the word to the entire world," said the Rev. Randy Morrison of Speak the Word Church in Golden Valley. "I can't physically do that, but my TV signal can."

And it does. Morrison's sermons are beamed by satellite to every continent except Antarctica. But while his church has one of the most ambitious TV ministries in Minnesota, it is not unique. The days in which a handful of televangelists ruled the airwaves are gone as a growing number of churches here and across the nation take their messages to the masses via cable-access TV and Internet video.

About 200 Minnesota congregations now have their own TV shows, ranging from "talking head" lectures to elaborate, multi-camera church service broadcasts.

Zion Lutheran Church in Anoka hopes to have its services on the Metro Cable Network today or next Sunday.

The Emerging Third World US

Quarter after quarter, year after year, the government reports job gains, but those gains are primarily in service industries: health care (we're not talking doctors, here), restaurants and bars, retail trade and, until recently, construction. A close examination of the figures will usually reveal a decline in manufacturing jobs. This is not an accident. .

32 GB iPod Touch: Best in Class, If Not Value

The new 32 GB iPod touch lets you carry around a whole lot of music and movies, but it's more expensive than many other comparable devices out there. You're paying more, of course, for the ability to access the Internet via WiFi, and to do so via a touch interface. Oh, and you're also paying a premium for that cute Apple logo on the back. So is it worth it?

Bodies ... The Exhibition

So I come home from Disney World to find all this snow and ice here. Something tells me I shoulda stayed an extra day or two.

However, since I'm back in the blogging saddle, and this is DVD release day, and since so many of us are snowed/iced in, it's a good time to see what's new, or new-ish, on DVD shelves.

New Today

Becoming Jane: From the Shakespeare in Love school of literary reimagining comes this drama that tells us the young Jane Austen's life was very much like Pride and Prejudice - too much like it for the movie's own good. The similarity to the classic novel makes the film too pat. Still, it held my attention most of the way, thanks in no small part to a very fine performance by the terminally undervalued Anne Hathaway. GRADE: B

Gone Baby Gone: This powerful tale of a child abduction gone awry, by Mystic River author Dennis Lehane has much the same feel as the Clint Eastwood film of that novel, so it's all the more remarkable that Ben Affleck, directing his first feature, still manages to put his own stamp on the movie, making it feel very authentic and lived-in.

Only 3 more days ...

Have the merriest of Christmases and the happiest of New Years. I deeply appreciate the attention you folks pay to Hot Potatoes. It's a humbling experience to be the gatekeeper for this blog. And I've made some good friends in doing so. See ya next year.
